To experience Richardson's oil paintings is to see the world with a new sensitivity and wonder, and with a heightened awareness of color. This immediacy and feeling of "pure response" is the fruit of years spent drawing the figure and working from nature.

an image of artist Jack Richardson in front of a large studio painting Richardson's formal art education began at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington,DC. From there he studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia where he was awarded a scholarship to travel and study in Europe. In the 1970's he taught painting and drawing at the prestigious Philadelphia Museum of Art.

After teaching landscape painting and figure drawing at the Art institute and Gallery in Salisbury, Maryland, Richardson moved the the Eastern Shore of Virginia where he displays his paintings and gives private instruction.
